Jimmy Garoppolo on Monday night made his return from a torn ACL suffered last season, and his first game back did not go well.
"It's something I haven't done in a year, so I've got to knock the rust off and everything".
"Obviously [I'm] a little frustrated", Garappolo said. You only get so many plays. But it is what it is. It's unfortunate we don't get to play a whole game right now. After a promising start to this season, the Eastern Illinois product tore his ACL in a Week 3 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Clearly he was rusty, and some of his throws weren't good during his three series on the field. One was intercepted and another would have been taken in for a touchdown if the Broncos cornerback hadn't dropped the attempt to Jordan Matthews.
"It's something I haven't done in a year obviously", Garoppolo told reporters after the game.
Acquired by the 49ers from the New England Patriots in 2017, San Francisco bet the farm on Garoppolo with a five-year contract worth $137 million.
Emmanuel Sanders was first in line from the southwest tunnel at Broncos Stadium on Monday night for player introductions.
"I wasn't thinking about it, so I was happy about that, " Garoppolo said.
