Belmadi is the only African Coach in the 10-man short list released by Federation Internationale de Football Association on Wednesday.
French club Lyon, treble winners in league, cup and Champions League, witnessed Lucy Bronze, Ada Hegerberg and France's internationals Amandine Henry and Wendie Renard amongst nominees.

The public will vote from the shortlists in each category, with the winners revealed on 23 September. Croatia and Real Madrid's Luka Modric won in 2018.
The victor will be announced at the annual "The Best" ceremony in September in Milan.
Virgil van Dijk is the early favourite for the honour, following his PFA Player of the Year award and Liverpool's continental success.
