While shooting a part on the FOX TV series 9-1-1, a boat door fell on Rousey's finger, almost severing it. It appears that the ever-intense MMA icon got a little too carried away and actually slammed the door shut on her own fingers. She received a splint for her hand and was reportedly ready to return to filming the following day.

Rousey took a recurring role in the third season of "9-1-1", in what is likely to be the first of many cross promotional opportunities for WWE and its new home on Fox.

The Baddest Woman On The Planet almost severed her finger when slamming a door during an emotional action scene.

Rousey, the former UFC women's bantamweight champion who was a pioneer for women's mixed martial arts, made a decision to take a hiatus from WWE in April to begin a family with husband and UFC heavyweight Travis Browne.

According to Fox, her character Lena Bosko is a 'fearless member of the LAFD's Station 136'.

UFC Hall of Famer and WWE superstar Ronda Rousey posted an update on her instagram account on Tuesday - and if you caught it without warning you may have passed out.

Rousey said she is recovering well and teased sharing a more detailed explanation of the incident on her YouTube channel.

"I told our director the situation and was rushed via ambulance to the hospital where they promptly reattached my bone and tendon with a plate and screws", Rousey wrote.

The 32-year-old Rousey says she had 50 percent range of motion back in just three days.
