The Marlins debuted rookie Isan Diaz on Monday, and he smacked a 422-foot homer off Mets ace and reigning Cy Young victor Jacob deGrom in his first game.

The family was being interviewed about the 23-year-old's debut while he was up to bat when Diaz connected off Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom in the sixth inning.

The right-hander passed Steve Rogers in the bottom of the third when he struck out New York Mets third baseman Todd Frazier for his 1,622 career punch out.

Composing himself, Raul Diaz addressed the Marlins fans watching at home.

The Mets beat the Marlins 6-2 to reach.500 for the first time since late May.
