One of the finest actors of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar, who is now basking in the success of his latest release "Mission Mangal" is the highest-paid actor in the industry.
The 47-year-old former wrestler and Fast And Furious actor elbowed out several Marvel stars to reclaim the top spot in Forbes' annual list. He has acted in films like Gold, 2.0 and Kesari during this period.
Even more, his upcoming film "Jumanji: The Next Level" will earn him around United States dollars 23.5 million which will make for his highest pay cheque till date.
Last year, Johnson was second behind George Clooney, who reaped a windfall from the sale of his tequila company.
Using his A-list clout to secure lucrative profit-sharing movie deals on top of eight-figure fees, Johnson also appears on HBO television show Ballers, hosts NBC game show Titan Games and has his own lucrative line of fitness clothing, among other endorsements.
Forbes' earning estimates are based on data from Nielsen, ComScore, Box Office Mojo and IMDB, as well as information from industry insiders. Chris Hemsworth who plays "Thor" in Avengers takes the 2nd spot while Robert Downey Jr. aka "Ironman" takes the third spot. Recently, as the list of the highest-paid actors was revealed, Akshay has ranked fourth beating Hollywood actors like Jackie Chan, Chris Evans and Will Smith with an estimated earnings of $65 million from June 1, 2018 to June 1, 2019.
Johnson made $124 million from June 2017 to June 2018, the most someone had ever made primarily from acting in the history of Forbes' Celebrity 100 list.
And being named the highest earner in Tinseltown is hardly the only thing Johnson has to celebrate these days.
