The Backstreet Boys star, who has had a hard relationship with the I Want Candy singer for several years, filed for the protection order, alleging Aaron had made threats against his pregnant wife, Lauren Kitt, and their unborn child.
The Backstreet Boys star - whose fitness instructor wife Lauren Kitt is expecting their second child next month - claims 31-year-old former child star Aaron is mentally unwell and has left them fearing for their safety.
The order, which TMZ obtained, requires that Aaron stay 100 feet from Nick and his family members.
Aaron's Twitter tirade came after Nick took to the social media platform to reveal why he was filing a restraining order against his brother. I am the one who said I'm done then you send me this?! Ok. I haven't even seen you guys and nick you bullied me my whole life.
Aaron recently did an Instagram live stream with one of Nick's accusers, Melissa Schuman.
During this time, Nick is making sure to go to great lengths to ensure their protection, and in a tweet, the singer shared that both he and his sister have filed restraining orders against Aaron.
Aaron denied claims of intentions to harm anyone, including his family.
Attaching a clip that shows him and his brother getting into a physical altercation Aaron wrote: "LEAVE ME ALONE. ITS BEEN PUBLIC. and now you're scared of the truth". Between 1999 and 2001, Nick and Aaron released four platinum albums between them. "I am afraid he will listen to the voices in his head and cause harm to my family".
Aaron also explained: "I never threatened anyone".
"I have to put my health first and I hope you can all understand how much I need this time to heal and recharge my batteries", Carter continued. "But as a man, this is what I require to do to have some peace".
