Today, they unveiled the content roadmap for Control, providing a sneak peek at what fans have to look forward to in the coming months, including two free modes and two paid expansions.
As for the expansions connected to the Season Pass, in 2020 we will be able to see the publication of two DLCs called "Fondamenta" and "EMA", each able to offer several hours of fun thanks to new missions, new enemies to face and even more game mechanics original.
Control is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC (Epic Games Store). Expansion 1, called The Foundation, is slated for early 2020, and in the middle of next year we'll get the following expansion, called Awe.
In December, a new game mode will be released for all players. The top image looks like the cover of Alan Wake, which features Alan with a flashlight standing in the Washington forest (it looks like the bottom image is one of Control protagonist Jesse Faden fighting the Hiss in the Federal Bureau of Control).
It appears that the second expansion for Control, AWE, may tie into Remedy's other franchise Alan Wake. This new story will expand on some of the elements teased about the Foundation of the Oldest House itself, which players visit at the end of Control.
We're off to see Control at next week's E3, but until we put up our preview coverage, here's a teaser. Needless to say, things are bound to get pretty freaky when this expansion arrives mid-2020. Also, both expansions will take place in new locations within the Oldest House.
As for AWE, the release says it "will take Jesse into a new area of the Oldest House, the Investigations Sector, where the Bureau closely examines Altered World Events".
The Digital Deluxe Edition of the game includes both expansions, which are also part of the Season Pass and will be available separately. If you haven't finished Control, spoilers ahead.
