Nicki Minaj Announces She's Retiring To Focus On Family

The 36-year-old rapper claimed that she was planning to retire because she wants to start a family.

Nicki Minaj just announced she's officially retiring from music to have a family.

Minaj's first solo album reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 list and spawned five top 40 singles. Exactly when the wedding will be remains a mystery, but Nicki explained several weeks ago that she and Kenneth have already applied for their marriage license. It's unclear if retirement means she's also done with the popular "Queen Radio" show.

"I've chose to retire & have my family", the "Anaconda" singer wrote.

"I'll be married before my album comes out, but will have my wedding after the album comes out".

"The next album will be written by a man so these men can get to know 'me.' I'll make sure not to include any metaphors or big words, so they don't feel overwhelmed or confused", she trolled. "To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, X in the box - cuz ain't nobody checkin me".

Nicki Minaj has always been adamant about defending her skills as a songwriter, and she felt the need to do so once more after a blogger criticized her lyrics for not being personal enough.

Taking to Twitter this evening, the rapper said that she knew people would be "happy" to hear that she was seemingly leaving the music industry. "I wrote that. Autobiography, All things go, Pills and Potions".
