Brown released a string of tweets after the news was made public Friday, thanking the Patriots for the opportunity with pictures of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.

Asked a final time if he's heard anything from the National Football League about his availability, Brown said, "I appreciate that question. We take all the situations with our team very seriously", Belichick said. "I'm not going to comment on any of the off-the-field situations".

Brown was hit with a lawsuit September 10, one day after he signed with the Patriots, that accused him of raping his former personal trainer.

The woman also provided text messages screenshots of a group text message that appeared to come from the same phone number Brown had given her in 2017.

The Antonio Brown era in New England is over after just one game.

He was then asked if any player could become too much of a distraction, and he stormed off. He was soon picked up by the Patriots and played in the 43-0 win over Miami Dolphins last Sunday.

Earlier Friday, Nike spokesman Josh Benedek confirmed that the company is no longer working with Brown, telling The Associated Press, "Antonio Brown is not a Nike athlete". Brown's lawyer has denied the accusations and says a countersuit will be filed. "Brown, nor will she, about seeking money to compensate her for his sexual misconduct, contrary to his allegations in the text messages", according to SI.

The magazine also did not receive responses from Brown's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, or the Patriots.

"I appreciate that question, I am here to just focus on ball and look forward to getting out there in the home stadium and be home with the team", Brown said when asked about his playing status.

There are no Antonio Brown sneakers available on Nike's website, including his signature shoe, the "Nike Tech Trainer Antonio Brown".

Brown was traded to Oakland from Pittsburgh in March and signed a three-year, $50 million extension, but after feuding with the National Football League over his helmet type and with Raiders management, his contract was voided and he went on to sign with the Patriots.
