Troopers interviewed her on August 22.
Police believe there was only one instance of improper physical contact between Vazquez and the girl.
The solicitation of a minor charge is based on allegations involving the text messages, photos, and video that Vazquez sent to the underaged female. On Tuesday, troopers interviewed Vazquez at his residence and wrote that he admitted to driving to the girl's house and trying to initiate intercourse.
"Ready for what?" investigators asked.
The girl claims Vazquez invited her into his red Mustang and then began to make sexual moves on her ... at one point trying to have vaginal sex.
Felipe Vazquez, a two-time All-Star pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates was arrested Tuesday on felony charges of pornography and soliciting a child, according to the Associated Press. He is in a Pittsburg jail now and will be sent to Florida soon.
Felipe is facing MULTIPLE serious charges. including felony statutory sexual assault, felony unlawful contact with a minor and felony solicitation of a child.
The explicit conversations began when the girl was 13, according to the FDLE.
Authorities said Vazquez continued to have a relationship with the now-15-year-old girl through text messages, WPXI reports. She also allegedly got text.
Authorities arrested Vzquez after executing a search warrant Tuesday morning at his Pittsburgh apartment.
The Pirates have informed Major League Baseball officials, and Vazquez is expected to be placed on leave.
Vazquez was an All-Star in 2018 and 2019. He was highly coveted at the trade deadline, but the Pirates' asking price was high enough to keep him in Pittsburgh. "It's disgusting every time I have to come up here in my 21-year career and talk about something of this nature".
The arrest is the latest setback in a turbulent season for the Pirates, who are in last place in the N.L. Central. He's expected to be extradited to Lee County, according to MLB.com.
