Following the premiere, new episodes of Star Trek: Picard's 10-episode first season will be available weekly on Thursdays, exclusively for CBS All Access subscribers in the U.S. Now living in a time filled with uncertainty, the U.S.S. Discovery crew, along with the help of some new friends, must fight together to regain a hopeful future.
Star Trek fans were served the ultimate "Trek" treat at New York Comic Con today when Sir Patrick Stewart debuted a new Star Trek: Picard trailer during the series' panel at Madison Square Garden. And if anyone is going to stand up for the values of Starfleet and good morals in general, it's goshdanged Jean Luc Picard. Sir Patrick Stewart will reprise the position he performed for seven a long time on "Star Trek: The Subsequent Era". Jeri Ryan also makes a crossover appearance as ex-Borg Seven of Nine from the "Star Trek Voyager" series. She's now top a kickass, phaser-blasting lifestyle and seems inclined to support Picard with his secretive mission, telling him, "I assist men and women who have no 1 else to assist them".
"We're doing our best not to fail it, which I think we've done pretty well", said executive producer Akiva Goldsman. "We did not want it to be, 'Oh, there's Riker!'" "We're in the middle of a massive immigration conversation right now, and we are very proud to say we're diving head-first into that and using "Trek' to explore it from all points of view".
Official synopsis from the producers: "After making the jump in the second season finale, season three of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY finds the U.S.S. Discovery crew dropping out of the wormhole and into an unknown future far from the home they once knew". The short tells the tale of Spock's first day aboard the Enterprise and the headaches that ensue when he's stuck in a lift with Number One.
CBS All Access also utilized New York Comedian Con 2019 to announce a new installment of "Short Trek" mini episodes that delve into "Discovery" characters' pasts.
