Basically, when the feature is rolled out, sharing a trailer of a show or movie on Netflix to an iOS user on WhatsApp will show a large thumbnail with a "play" icon, that will play the video within the app in a picture-in-picture format. The dark mode, however, isn't going to be the only big feature that is expected to come soon on WhatsApp.

The users who want their chats to be protected will have to install the latest version of WhatsApp. "Turn on Unlock with fingerprint, and confirm your fingerprint". The only major difference between the two themes is a different shade of black. However, both the themes share an identical background for the chat bubbles.

Currently, the PiP (Picture in Picture) feature is already in use, where the users get to watch videos from Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube directly within the app instead of re-directing it to the respected site or page where the video is available. Let us tell you that earlier this feature has been implemented for iOS users.

With regards to the new fingerprint unlock feature, users can also choose in how much time the app will automatically lock-in.

With more than 1.5 billion worldwide users, WhatsApp is the most popular instant messaging app in the world. WhatsApp is still testing this feature so it is not yet confirmed that it will release this feature in the forthcoming updates.

With the first configuration, WhatsApp adopts a darker colour, in line with the dark mode on native iOS apps with the iOS 13 update.
